WORKING DOG TRAINING

1:1 Training

Working dog training is available to all working dog breeds. Sessions are one hour, one on one with James with both farm and 'city dogs' welcome. 'City dogs' will focus on burning energy and having the opportunity to use their natural instincts while farm dogs will focus on developing and fine tuning their instincts and skills for working on a farm.

James will collaborate with you to make some goals and get you and your dog working towards them. Owners are very much a part of the lesson so that your dog is responding to you and your commands, not just James.

Sessions are $88 for one hour and run both am and pm Mon- Fri.

Group Training

At present, we have two group training options for dogs and owners with some prior experience.

Tuesday 4.15pm - Fortnightly one hour sessions for up to 4 dogs.

Saturday 8am - one hour sessions for up to 8 dogs.

During our group sessions, participants will rotate through various stations working sheep in different scenarios. Some experience is required for these sessions as owners will be required to work their own dogs while James attends to other participants. Demonstrations by James and his kelpies will be held at various times throughout some sessions along with discussions and Q&A sessions.

For newcomers with little to no experience, we have recently introduced our Intro to Working Dog Training group class which has been very popular. These sessions are one hour for dogs and owners. Dogs must be a working dog breed and can be a pet or a future farm worker. These sessions run as a group with more opportunities to observe others while also having a go on sheep yourself!

Please note, all casual 1:1 and group sessions must be paid at the time of booking.
