Shimmy Downs Kelpies is a family-owned and operated working dog training business based in the South West of WA, just outside Busselton.

Founded by James and Michelle Carr, Shimmy Downs was built from a passion for working dogs, rural life and helping others get the very best out of their dogs. What started as a small kelpie stud has grown into a trusted training space for working breed owners across the region and beyond.

Alongside training, we also breed kelpie pups from proven working lines. Our breeding program focuses on producing versatile, capable dogs that are confident working in the yard, on the truck and out in the paddock.

Shimmy Downs is very much a family environment, our girls are growing up surrounded by dogs, sheep and the day-to-day rhythm of farm life, and that sense of community is something we love sharing with our clients.
